Lalah-Simone Springer is a poet and speculative fiction writer from Dagenham, Essex. During REWRITE ACADEMY, Lalah was working on a collection of sci-fi and urban fantasy short stories from the perspectives of underrepresented groups. With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lalah moved towards poetry. Lalah works part-time as marketing officer for spoken word organisation Apples and Snakes; and performs as part of Queering Space, a collective dedicated to decolonising cultural institutions. Previous collaborations as a performance artist have been staged at The Barbican and Almanac Project Space.
