Is my trip package refundable?
Your retreat booking is considered confirmed at the time of booking. All REWRITE retreats, courses, classes, events, programs, and memberships are non-refundable. This includes for reasons of COVID-19 or illness. We strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance for any cancellation reason so that you can request a refund through your travel insurance. For cancellations, we offer one-time transfers. You will be responsible for the price difference if purchasing a more expensive product. A one-time transfer to another retreat may be made 120 days or more prior to the departure of the retreat. Transfers past the 120-day mark period will not be allowed. What do I need for international travel?
A passport valid for 6 months after travel is standard, please check the country entry requirements for each destination. This is usually found on the country’s government website.
Do I need a Covid-19 vaccination?
A Covid-19 vaccination is not required to attend our retreats, however, the destination country may have this as a requirement, please visit the destination’s travel and tourism website for up-to-date information.
I would like to share a room with another guest
We are currently only offering single-occupancy rooms.
Do you provide ground transportation to/from the airport?
Yes. Airport transfers are included in all of our packages.
Do you have discounts available?
Each retreat has a 10% discount if paid in full at the time of booking.
Do I need to book my own flight?
You are responsible for booking your own flight to and from the destination. Please visit the retreat page for airport information
When should I book my package?
You should book as soon as you’re able to because space is limited at all retreats.
Who can attend the retreats?
Our retreats are open to Black women and Women of Colour, from around the globe, who are interested in nurturing their creative writing practice.
What is Included?
Please refer to the package page for the retreat you are interested in attending to see what is included in your package price.
For all retreats, if you choose to go on any additional excursions outside of the scheduled retreat activities, you will be responsible for the costs, however, we are happy to assist in helping you arrange reservations and transportation.
When will I receive the trip details?
Upon registration, you will receive a welcome message with general trip information. If you opted for an installment plan, you will also receive auto-reminders 3 days prior to the payment date. As the date of the retreat approaches over the next few months, you will receive emails on specifics relevant to your trip.
Can I arrive early and stay late?
You are more than welcome to book your travel to arrive early and/or stay post-retreat. If you choose to do so, you will be responsible for the cost of your room at the hotel/resort for those additional days. We will do our best to work with the hotel/resort to give you the same rate that your group will receive for the retreat. Contact us directly for more information.
How much free time will we have?
Each retreat is curated to allow participants enough free time to wander and explore the beautiful destinations on their own.
Should I get travel insurance?
Travel insurance is not mandatory, however, we highly recommend you purchase it, particularly during this climate and/or if you have a pre-existing condition. If you choose to do so, we suggest that you add “cancel for any reason” or “cancel for work reasons” to your policy.
Although normal trip cancellation will cover you for illness or injury, or for a travel companion’s illness, injury or death, it is limited to these. With “cancel for any reason” you will receive a percentage (usually 75%-100%) of all pre-paid costs. With this coverage, if something comes up, a or if we have to cancel due to weather, staff injury or illness or other unforeseen reasons, you will be covered. *This option needs to be purchased within 15 days of your trip deposit.
What should I bring?
You should generally bring: outfits for our evening dinners, sunscreen, bug repellent, comfortable clothes and shoes, trainers, water shoes, sunglasses, swimwear (if climate-friendly), a reusable water bottle. All workshop materials will be provided, including pens and paper, though you are welcome to bring your own.
