Zad is a writer and community organiser from London, and winner of the 2019 Spread the Word London Writers Awards. They have written on migration, feminism and colonialism for a number of outlets, and have published a pamphlet of narrative non-fiction with the Italian cultural magazine inutile. They have written theatre shows preserving oral family histories of war and migration for the Camden
People’s Theatre and the North Wall, and were commissioned by Poet in the City. They performed on the main stage for over 10,000 people at Ventimiglia Città Aperta, an anti-racist protest on the border between Italy and France. They has also featured as a poet at The World Transformed Festival, the largest political festival in the
UK. They are currently writing their first novel.
